LYFORD - Jose Maria Saldana, 83, of Lyford, TX, entered into rest Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at his resi- dence.

He was born on December 7, 1926 in Lyford, TX, son of the late Juan and Natalia (Sosa) Saldana.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Loya Saldana of Lyford, two sons, Jose Saldana, Jr. of Uvalde, and Simon Saldana of Lyford; four daughters, Gloria Silguero of Dallas, Josefina (Fina) Saldana of Raymondville, Sylvia Secrest of Corpus Christi, and Cris Saldana of Lyford, eight grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, and Thursday, May 6, at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Lyford on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 10 a m. Interment will follow at the Lyford Guadalupe Cemetery with Duddlesten Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements, (956) 689-2151.
