Leonel Salinas, 77, of Raymondville, TX, entered into rest Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center.

He was born in Raymondville on November 14, 1932, son of the late Antonio and Clarita (Reyna) Salinas.

Surviving are his wife, Macrina Salinas of Raymondville; 4 sons, Leonel Salinas, Jr. of Raymondville, Jaime (Monica) Salinas of Harlingen, Ruben Salinas and Roger Salinas, both of San Diego, CA; 1 daughter, Noelia Gonzalez of Raymondville; 2 brothers, Roberto Salinas of Raymondville and Benito Salinas of Detroit, MI; 1 sister, Dora Salinas of Raymondville and 5 grandchildren.

He is preceeded in death by 3 brothers, Rogelio, Lupe and Ramon Salinas and 2 sisters, Luz Cantu and Ester Chavez.

Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 4, at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville. Funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.
