County residents can now find property records on line

Willacy County has joined the computer age in a big way with all property records since 1992 now available online. The new software from iDocket.com takes the clerk's records from the office to the web making courthouse property records available 24/7 to local taxpayers.

County Clerk Teresa "Terry" Flores said the new software system called "Emerald" provides her office with cutting edge technology to more eas- ily distribute property record data and informtion.

Willacy County is the fourth county in Texas to install the new software and the only county in South Texas to use the new technology. Other Texas counties where the service is available include Prsidio, Coryell and Jack counties.

Ms. Flores said she is "excited" about the chance to offer better services to those who record and search for documents in her office.

"Individuals will have access to many features such as document searching, making copies, reports and spreadsheets making this a powerful tool and resource to them with no revenue loss to the county."

And this new service will eliminate having to wait until Monday morning when the courthouse opens for needed documents.
