Ramiro Rodriguez Ramos, 71, of Hobbs, NM passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Hobbs. Ramiro was born on January 24, 1939 in Raymondville, TX to Hilario and Juanita Ramos.

Services have been entrusted to Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, NM. Visitation was held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary recited 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Mass was celebrated Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Ruben Romero officiating, interment followed at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.

Ramiro married on March 7, 1960 to Margarita Cortinas in Raymondville, TX and moved to Hobbs, in 1965. He was a truck driver for 55 years for Ramos & Sons Trucking Co. He was a veteran for the U.S. Army. He was of Catholic faith and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Knights of Columbus, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Margarita Coritnas Ramos of Hobbs; three sons, Ramiro Ramos, Jr. of Hobbs, Rene Ramos and Manuel Ramos of Gilbert, AZ; two daughters: Mellisa Laureles of Hobbs, and D’Anne Moreno of Lovington, NM; three brothers: Hilario Ramos, Jr., Raul Ramos, and Roberto Ramos all of Raymondville, TX; five sisters: Susie De La Paz, Consuelo De La Paz, Josie Lopez, Janie Salinas, and Rosie Ramos all of Raymondville, TX; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three uncles: Felipe Alvarado of Hobbs, Jose Alvarado of Lubbock, TX and Florentino Ramos of Raymondville; four aunts, Antonia Barbosa of Bakersfield, CA, Margarita Ortiz of Mission, TX, Gloria Ambriz of Raymondville, Connie Lerma of Raymondville, TX; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
