RAYMONDVILLE - Manuel Sosa, Jr., 83, of Raymondville, TX, entered into rest Friday, June 25, 2010 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 16, 1927 in Edinburg, TX, son of the late Manuel and Catarina (Zamora) Sosa, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Hortencia Sosa of Raymondville, four daughters, Hortencia Reyes, Sylvia (Jorge) Gonzalez, Mary (Rick) Garza, Laura Sosa, all of Raymondville, one sister, Maria Elena Reyes of Baytown, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Desidoro, Gabriel and Matias Sosa; Leonor Villalobos, Margarita Cervantez and Cecilia Gomez.

A rosary was recited on Sunday, June 27, at 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville. Funeral services were held at Our Lady of Guadalupe, Monday, June 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in the Raymondville Memorial Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Romeo Solis, John Bazaldua, John Reyes, Carlos Cano, Jorge Gonzalez, Jr., Ricardo Garza, Jr., Jeremy Chapa and Chris Garza.
