ALBERT SIMO
LYFORD - Albert Simo, 90, of Lyford, TX, entered into rest Wednesday, June 30, 2010 in Valley Baptist Medical Center.
After farming for many years, he managed the Los Ebanos International Ferry in Los Ebanos, Texas until his retirement. Papaw, as he was lovingly called, enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was his family, family history, and La Becerra Ranch, east of Raymondville.
Albert was preceded in death by a son, Oscar Simo, Sr., parents, Arturo and Juanita Simo, siblings, Joe Simo, Sr., Arturo Simo, Jr., John Simo, Antonia “Toni” S. Malloney, and Ignacia “Nachita” S. James.
Albert is survived by his wife, Narcy Simo; children, Melba (Roger) Williams and George (Dr. Lizzie) Simo; 6 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; sister, Mary Jane S. Guerra and several nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 7 p.m. at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, TX. Funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Lyford, TX with interment at Raymondville Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were his grandsons and nephews. The family would like to thank Maria Elena Silva, Teresa Sander, Estella Barron, Jose Mireles, and Roy Zallar for the wonderful attention and care given to our Dad.
