RHS student council recruiting members

by Amanda Esparza

As the new school year will be beginning, the Raymondville High School Student Council is looking forward to recruiting new members. The organization is one of only 132 councils nationally recognized in the U.S., and the only high school from the valley with such honor. Not to mention, it has done so twice in recent times. “Students who are a part of this organization learn valuable lessons that will help them with leadership skills they will use in later careers.

Student Council is a great way to not only pick up those leadership skills, but meet new friends too. Overall, it’s a learning experience that goes a long way,” says RHS Student Council President, Jennifer Gonzales. All RHS students, freshmen through seniors are encouraged to join the organization and be a part of the earning the National Gold Council of Excellence award for the third time.

If interested, contact Mr. Raul Torres at Raymondville High School or a Student Council officer at the freshmen orientation or when school begins.
