Underaged girls preying on older men, writer believes
I am writing you because I am concerned about what is happening here in Raymondville.
Promiscuous teen aged girls are lying about their age to engage in sexual activites with older men. My 23-year-old brother, Jose Eduardo Villarreal, was caught up in this kind of situation.
It started when my brother met this young lady and when he asked her age, she lied by saying that she was 18. After that he got involved with her and a month later a Raymondville police officer came looking for Jose at our home.
The officer told my mother, Margarita, that there was a warrant out for his arrest for aggravated sexual assault. Jose was out of town but when he returned he went to the police department to clear his name, because he thought it was a misunderstanding.
Jose was arrested on June 28 after the officer told him that the girl was 14 years old. She lied to my brother about her age and she doesn't look 14, she looks 18, or 19.
Jose is one of five men this has happened to recently. Two of the men have already been prosecuted while Jose and two other men are awaiting trial. These men are in trouble with the law because of malicious actions of these young girls. Where are the parents, or guardians of these young girls?
Please shed some light on this situation not only for my brother but for the next victims of these young girls.
Sincerely, Andrea Villarreal

Ms. Villarreal,
This is not a new situation. Such young women used to be known as “San Quentin Quail,” the name of a prison in California. Many things can happen to young people who become involed sexually and they are all bad. Unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted disease, and in your brother’s case --- possibly long prison sentences.
