Andres D. Tarnez, 88 of Monte Alto, TX, entered into rest Thursday, August 19, 2010 in Edinburg Regional Medical Center.

He was born on June 27, 1922 in Willacy County, TX, son of the late Fidel M.and Feiicita (de la Rosa) Taxnez.

Mr. Tamez is preceeded in death by 4 sisters, Herminia Silva, Elisa Garza, Delia Fonseca and Maria Perez; 3 brothers, Enrique Tamez, Fidel Tamez, Jr. and Raul Alvarado.

He is survived by his wife, Cleotilda Tamez of Monte Alto; 4 sons, Robert (Casilda Tamez, Carlos (Diana) Tamez, Juan Miquel (Juana) Tamez all of Monte Alto, and Andres Armando (Dora) Tamez of Weslaco; 2 daughters, Diana (Joe) Alvarez and Sofia (Jessie) Esquierdo, both of Elsa; 5 brothers, Ernesto (Rosa) Tamez Nieves (Tina) Tamez, Daniel (Olga) Tamez, Samuel (Eloisa) Tamez and Ramiro (Alicia) Tamez; 25 Grandchildren and 35 Great- Grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Friday, August 20 at Duddlesten Funeral Home, Raymondville, TX. Funeral services were held at Bethel United Methodist Church, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. followed by Interment in the La Sara Cemetery, under the direction of Duddlesten Funeral Home.
