Father Rafael was born in Tampico, Mexico August 28, 1969 to Aglayde and Santa Vega and is the oldest of six children.

He joined the Diocese of Brownsville in 1998 and attended Assumption Seminary in San Antonio and was ordained a priest on May 27, 2006.

Prince of Peace and its Missions of, St. Martin of Tours and Santa Monica were his first parish as a pastor.

In June of 2010 Fr. Vega celebrated his first year as pastor of our parish and its missions.
