AUSTIN, Texas (AP) The University of Texas is No. 1 - at least when it comes to selling branded merchandise.

For the fifth straight year, the Longhorns top the Collegiate Licensing Company's annual list of top-selling colleges, according to a report in Saturday editions of the Austin Ameri- can-Statesman. Texas made $10.15 million in royalties for the fiscal year running from July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010.

The previous year, UT collected slightly less than $8.9 million.

The CLC represents almost 200 colleges and universities. Among schools that aren't affiliated with licensing company, Ohio State typically sells the most merchandise.

This year, the Buckeyes pulled in slightly less than $8 million from the sale of branded items, said Rick Van Brimmer, director of Ohio State's trademark and licensing services.
