AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - What do you think?

Participants in the Texas Association of Magicians annual conference might know.

This weekend’s event in Austin brings together hundreds of mind readers, escape artists, illusionists and other magical arts experts.

Attorney Hull Youngblood is president of the Austin chapter of the Society of American Magicians, which is co-sponsoring the event with the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Youngblood says he became hooked a few years ago when he was at an airport and showed a woman a card trick he’d just learned. Youngblood says other travelers gathered around to see what he was doing and “it was a great feeling.”

The Austin American Statesman reported Friday that the Texas Association of Magicians traces its roots to the

1940s.
