A FREAK ACCIDENT happened Tuesday afternoon as an 18-year-old man driving a four-door compact car and with no driver’s license went off the frontage road just south of FM 490, hitting a lift station owned by the City of Raymondville. The vehicle hit a utility pole and bounced into another pole where it got sandwiched. A DPS trooper said he couldn’t find a logical reason for what happened, and said that the man suffered no major injuries and was transported by ambulance to Harlingen Medical Center.
